Kenneth Solomon

Obituary of Kenneth Solomon

Kenneth M. Solomon 68, of Peckville, died Monday, unexpectedly.

His wife of 47 years is the former Ann Carol Jackowitz.

Born in Scranton, he was the son of the late Michael and Norma Lemoncelli Solomon. He graduated from Blakely High School and attended Keystone College and received a Bachelors of Science Degree and a Masters in Education from Bloomsburg University. He lived in Peckville the last 47 years and was a member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, Peckville. He was employed as a Teacher in the Valley View School District for 34 years until his retirement. He was a member of the Army Reserves during the Vietnam War.

He was a social member of both the Peckville and Jessup Veterans of Foreign Wars.

Today this angel got his wings; we will forever remember this father, husband, grandfather and friend. Ken greeted everyone with a handshake, a hug or a kiss and always a big smile. You could always find him at Sarah and Nicholas’ events, which were his greatest joys. He was a true gentleman and loved his family more than we could ever know. With the heaviest of hearts I say goodbye to Big Ken, I love you more than you’d ever know.

Also surviving are a son, Kenneth and wife Jennifer, Eynon, two grandchildren, Sarah and Nicholas, a brother Keith and wife Sharon, Johnson City,  a brother in law Steve Jackowitz and wife Tina, Olyphant, and nieces and nephews.
