Obituary of James T. Lanuti
James T. Lanuti 80, of Eynon , died Wednesday, at Mercy Hospital. His wife is the former Eleanor Schwartztrauber . The couple would have celebrated 58 years of marriage on New Years Eve. Born in Eynon, he was the son of the late Dominick and Assunta Delonti Lanuti. He attended Archbald schools and was employed as a miner during his younger years and retired from Haddon-Craftsman, where he worked as a bookbinder for over 35 years. He was a US Army veteran during World War II, serving in the Asiatic-Pacific Theater of Operations. He was a life member and past commander of the Eynon VFW, Post 7963 and a life member of the Eynon American Legion, Post 624. He was a school director in the Archbald School District and a member of the Board of Education for the Valley view School District. He was a member of St. Patricks Church, Olyphant. After his retirement he became an avid gardener. He enjoyed the simple things in life. His love of his grandchildren and great grandchildren was immeasurable. Also surviving; a daughter , Linda Healey and husband Donald Sr., Olyphant, grandsons; Donald Healey Jr. and wife, Cris, David Healey and wife Christy, all from Olyphant, grand daughter Brenda Borrelli and husband Kevin, Throop, great grandchildren; Donald III, Ashlyn and Alli Healey, and a sister Freida Ruspi, Eynon, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a sister Eleanor and brothers, Alfred, Alfredo, and Arenaldo The funeral will be Monday from the James M. Margotta Funeral Home, 1019 Main St., Peckville with mass at 9:30 at ,Holy Ghost Church, Olyphant. Entombment, Our Mother Of Sorrows Cemetery. Friends may call Sunday from 4 to 8 PM.
