Obituary of William Bernard Radick

William B. Radick, 94, Eynon and formerly of Kearny, N.J. A retired teacher of the West Orange School system and Korean War Veteran died on June 9th. Born in Eynon, PA in 1928. He lived most of his adult life in N.J. before returning to his hometown, Eynon, PA in 1998. Mr. Radick had been a Social Studies Teacher in West Orange, N.J. School System for 35 years before retiring in 1988. He received a Bachelor of Arts degree and Masters Degree in Administration from Montclair State College in 1949 and 1955; and did further advanced study in Education and Social Studies at Seton Hall University and Northwestern University. He was a member of the West Orange Education Association, the Essex County Association and the N.J. Education Association. Mr Radick served in the U.S. Army (Infantry) for two years during the Korean War (1950-1953). During this two year period , he was stationed in Trieste, Italy for 17 months with the 351st Infantry Regiment, attaining the rank of Corporal. The love of his life was always the N.J. Shore where he spent many summers on Long Beach Island. The family would like to thank the Gardens Health Care Center, nurses and staff, the memory care unit, and Residential hospice for their kind and compassionate care. He was predeceased in death by his brothers John, (1996), Joseph (1999), and Aunt, Sallie D. Dixon (2004), and sisters, Sonia (Radick) Kaufman (2006) and Jean Eldred (1963) Surviving are nieces, Carol McAndrew, Archbald/Eynon, PA; Barbara (Kaufman) Suomi, Princeton, N.J.; nephews: John Radzikowski, Dickson City; and Michael Kaufman, Naples, FL; a cousin, Bernard L. Williams, Martinsville, N.J., and several grand nieces and grand nephews. There will be a funeral celebrated in July at the family’s convenience. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Margotta Funeral Homes. In place of flowers, it is requested for anyone who wishes a donation to a Veterans Hospital or Nursing home at or near your place of residence can be made for a veteran’s recovery.
