Obituary of Dorothy Ingoldsby

Dorothy Ingoldsby March 1, 2022 Dorothy Ingoldsby, 98, died peacefully on Tuesday, March 1, at her daughter’s home in Grayson Ga. A lifelong resident of Peckville before moving to Georgia in 2016, she was happily married for 47 years to Edward J. Ingoldsby who passed away in 1999. Born in 1923, daughter of Nicholas and Johanna Wysochanski, she graduated in 1942 from Blakely High School and was a member of Sacred Heart Church. Following her attendance at Keystone Junior College, she worked as a secretary before becoming a homemaker and loving mother to her three children. Her generosity and devotion to family continued into her 98th year as she closely followed the lives and careers of her children and grandchildren, finding great joy in the recent birth of several great grandchildren. An indomitable spirit, she fought through serious health challenges to spend the greatest possible time on this earth with her loved ones. She is survived by a daughter, Pamela Pomar, Grayson Ga.; two sons, James and wife Paula of Doylestown Pa, and Edward and Karen, Malta N.Y.; eight grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Also surviving are sisters Gloria Alexander of Metuchen N.J. and Mary Ann Christensen of Canton Ct., as well as many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased in 2014 by a brother, Dr. Eugene Wyso, and in 2020 by a son-in-law, Dennis Pomar. The funeral will be on Saturday, March 12th, with mass of Christian burial at 10 am at Holy Cross Church, Olyphant. Friends and family may gather at 9:00am at the Church to pay respects. Interment will follow at Cathedral Cemetery, Scranton. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be sent to Direct Relief-Ukraine (https://www.directrelief.org/emergency/ukraine-crisis/). And finally, our family would like to offer its heartfelt thanks to Pamela who welcomed her mother into her home and served lovingly as her companion and caregiver. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Louis M. Margotta Funeral Home, Jessup.
