Obituary of Ann Maruschak
Ann Maruschak
(December 14, 1933 – January 31st, 2022)
Ann Maruschak of Peckville, surrounded by family, fell asleep in the arms of our Lord at the age of 88 after a 21 year battle with breast cancer. Surviving is her loving husband of 48 years, John (Jack) Maruschak.
Born on December 14, 1933, she was the daughter to Anna and Wasil Masko. Raised in Jessup, she graduated from Jessup High School in 1952. She was a dedicated and devout long time member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, Peckville.
She was predeceased by her first husband, Francis Briskie; sisters, Mary Kerr, Marge Kathalaynas, Agnes (Pat) Renzini, Donna Cominsky; and brothers, Michael Matsko, John (Shag) Masko and Bobby Masko.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by two daughters, Lynn Frankenfield and husband, Guy of Cedar Hill, TX, and Michele Park and husband Andy, Dacula, GA; a son, Eric Briskie and wife Lori of Easton, PA and step-daughter, Jacqueline Maruschak, New York, NY. Her pride and joy, her grandchildren, Guy (Gabrielle) Frankenfield, Land-O’Lakes,FL, Brooke (Justin) Kintz, Arlington, VA, Dr.’s Lauren Briskie(Matthew Rizzotti), Aberdeen, MD, Dr. Ryan Briskie,York, PA, and Madison Park, Dacula, GA.
Her beloved great grandchildren, Gianna and Gillian Frankenfield, Vivienne Kintz, and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Ann will always be remembered for her devotion to her family. Ann was a caring wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and friend. She will be greatly missed. She dedicated many years to raising her family to which she took great pride; she was also employed at Marywood University and Mid-Valley Long Term Care Center. She was a former co-owner of Kuzzin’s Café, Dunmore, where she and her husband managed the successful bar and restaurant. It gave her great joy to visit her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She enjoyed her shopping sprees and weekly luncheons with her many friends.
A special thank you to all the staff at the Hospice of the Sacred Heart for their caring, compassion, and support to her family at the end of her life.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on February 4th at 2 PM Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, 1101 Willow Ave, Peckville, officiated by Rev. Andrew Kurovsky.
Friends may call from 1 PM until the time of service at Sacred Heart Church. Due to concerns of Covid the family request that masks be worn.
