Obituary of Helen M. Brogenski

Helen Marie Brogenski, 92 of Jessup passed away Friday in her sleep at Hospice of the Sacred Heart in Dunmore. She has gone to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. She felt blessed to have lived a full and complete life, surrounded by those she loved and those that loved her. She was the most loving and caring mother, raising two sons on her own after the early death of her husband. She was known by her family and neighbors for her baking at the holidays. She loved every minute she spent with her grandchildren, her family meant everything to her. Any words are insufficient to describe the special and amazing person that Helen was. She was the widow of Joseph Brogenski who died in 1977. The couple was married for 12 Years. Born in Jessup, she was the daughter of the late John and Bertha Homentosky. She was a graduate of Jessup High School and was employed at Barbizon Inc. for 18 years and retired from Suburban Casuals. She resided in Jessup for most of her life, with the exception of 12 years when she resided in Falls Church, Virginia. She was a lifelong member of St. Stanislaus Kostka Chapel, now known as Queen of Angels Parish. The family would like to give a special thank you to the staff at Hospice of the Sacred Heart for all of the kindness and compassion afforded to Helen during her time at the facility. The family also would like to thank the staff of Davita Dialysis, Eynon for their caring service the past 2 years. Surviving are two sons, Joseph and wife Colleen, Moscow and Edmund and wife Charis, Pittston, grandchildren, Grant and Brooke Brogenski, Corrinne Emily and husband Ricky, Edmund Brogenski and fiancée Kcee Davis, Eugene and Christopher Brogenski, great grandchildren, Caleb and Isabella Brogenski and Cole and Noah Emily. She was preceded in death by a grandson, Joabie Brogenski, brothers, John, Michael and Joseph Homentosky and sisters, Margaret Vicki, Mary Safko, Barbara Mellado, and an infant sister Sophie. The funeral will be Thursday from the Louis M. Margotta Funeral Home, 511 Church St. Jessup, with mass at 10AM at St. Michael's Church. Interment, St. John's Cemetery, Jessup. Friends may call Thursday from 8 to 9:45 AM at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of the Sacred Heart.
