Thomas Coyle

Obituary of Thomas J. Coyle

Thomas J. Coyle, 72, of Hawley, died Wednesday morning at home. His wife of 40 years, is Christine Coyle, Hawley. Born in Scranton, he was the son of the late William and Violet Schaffer Coyle. He attended Scranton School District and earned his GED in the US Navy. He was employed by RCA Thompson for 30 years. Then he was superintendent of Forum Towers, Scranton, prior to his retirement. There are those who spend their time here making life more peaceful, kind, and enjoyable for others. Tom was one of those people. A former Navy sailor, hard worker who took pride in everything he did, motorcycle enthusiast, hunter, archer, fisherman, he loved the ocean . Loved a life traveling with his wife having adventures exploring the country on his motorcycle. He left this world the same way he lived, peacefully and with kindness toward everyone. Also surviving are his children: Tommy and his wife Michelle, Mike and his husband Kevin, Colleen his daughter, and his granddaughter Abigail, his brother Red Coyle and wife Joyce. He was preceded in death by his brother Billy and sister Marg. The funeral will be private at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Louis M. Margotta Funeral Home.
