Obituary of William A. Strumsky

William A. Strumsky, 60, of Jessup died Saturday at Geisinger, CMC. Born in Scinon, France, he was the son of the late SFC William J. Strumsky US Army (Ret.) and Stasia Strumsky (Jablonowski). Bill was a 1979 graduate of Valley View High School. He received a B.S. from the University of Scranton, class of 1983. He retired from Cracker Barrel restaurant. During his years of employment at Cracker Barrel, he received numerous managerial awards. He loved working in the restaurant and food industry. Bill was a phenomenal cook, those who loved and knew him, know this. Bill loved to travel and did it extensively throughout his life. Being the son of a career Army sergeant , he lived throughout the world, places included France, Germany, North Carolina, Virginia, and Alabama. His favorite place throughout his travels was the Outerbanks of North Carolina. During his high school years, he played football and was on the wrestling team, which he would reminisce about while attending his nephew's sporting events. He was an avid sports fan. His teams were the Eagles, Flyers, Phillies, Alabama and Penn State wrestling. His life was devoted to his family and friends. His nephews were his world. He instilled his honor, love and passion to them. His dogs, Apollo, Rocky, Duke and Lucky were his boys and brought him so much joy. Bill belonged and was an active member of the, Sons of the American Legion, Post 869, Archibald, Pa Surviving are his siblings, Michael and wife Jennifer, Honesdale, and Diane Pittsman, Jessup; two nephews, Matthew and Kristopher Pittsman, Alyce Marshall, cousin/sister, New Milford. He was preceded in death by sister Elizabeth and brother’s Donald and David. There will be a celebration of life at the Louis M. Margotta Funeral Home, 511 Church St. Jessup, on Tuesday from 5 to 8 pm. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family.
