Obituary of Casey L. Kurtz

Casey Kurtz, 39 of South Abington Township died unexpectedly. Born Dec. 15, 1981 in Scranton and raised in Greenfield Township, son of Ken and Ruth Kurtz , Greenfield Township. Casey was a graduate of Lakeland high School and then earned a degree in horticulture from Penn College of Technology...He also had a career and technical education teacher certificate from Temple University After Graduation.he was employed as a landscape supervisor by Brickman corporation, a landscape company in the Allentown area. A few years later he pursued his dream of having his own business and formed CLK LANDSCAPING. Casey and his crew designed and built many beautiful landscape projects throughout the years.He was also a certified tree injector and his knowledge of trees and plants was very impressive. Casey was a member of the Tompkinsville United Methodist Church and served a term on the church council.... He was also a past associate member of the Lackawanna Home Builders Association and was a major volunteer and contributer for the Homes For Our Troops Project. Casey loved sports and was extremely competitive....He once represented Pennsylvania in a youth bowling tournament held in San Antonio Texas, years later in an adult bowling league threw his first 300 game. He loved Basketball and played at Lakeland from 5th grade until graduation...In high school was named to the Turonis Tournament all star team for 2 consecutive years Although you leave us way to soon we will forever remember the good times.... You're spending time with the family with your sidekick bulldog Duke, being the head chef at the family picnics, kayaking down the Delaware, mountain biking up Elk Mountain, hunting for deer and turkey, the Christmas Eve traditions,the trips to the Syracuse games and much more. God Bless You, May you rest in peace. We will weep in the arms of Jesus. In addition to his parents, Casey is also survived by his Grandmother,Aunts,Uncles, Cousins and many Friends... There will be a Graveside Service by Rev.Bonnie Resseguie held at 10 am this Saturday, Sept. 4th outdoors at the South Gibson Cemetery. State Route 92 in South Gibson...
