Obituary of Michael Patrick O'Connor

Michael P. O’Connor, 39, of Archbald, died Wednesday at Geisinger CMC. His wife is the former Cheryl Newton O’Connor, Archbald. The couple was married for 15 years. Born in Scranton, he was the son of Timothy and Sandra Luklanchuk O’Connor, Jessup. Michael was a graduate of Mid Valley High School and attended Johnson College. A lifelong member of Holy Cross Parish, Olyphant. He was employed for 13 years at McLane Distribution. He was a lifelong member of the Olyphant Hose Co. and active volunteer FireFighter. Micahel was a kind and loving husband, father, son, brother and friend who will be dearly missed. He had a great sense of humor and was the life of every party. He very much enjoyed family time, Notre Dame Football, Boston Red Sox Baseball and wrestling. He was a superhero for his entire family. He lived for his children and was the glue of the O’Connor family. He suffered from multiple illnesses but was “made strong”. “There is no awesome without me” Also surviving are his children; Jordyn and partner Jacob Piazza, Madysin, and Ayden, all of Archbald; a sister, Bridget Maday and husband Chris, Blakely, his brothers Timothy and wife Stacy, Scranton; Sean and wife Jonna, Olyphant, Kevin and wife Caitlin, Scranton; his mother in law, Patricia Evankavitch, Archbald, a brother in law, Chris Newton and wife Veronica, TX; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. The funeral will be on Monday with mass of Christian burial at 9:30 am at Holy Cross Parish, Olyphant. Interment will follow at the Parish Cemetery, Blakely.
