Obituary of Andrew J. Telesz

Andy Telesz Andrew "Andy" J. Telesz Sr. 81 of Justus, Scott Township passed away peacefully, Friday at home surrounded by his family. His wife of 61 years is the former Janet Vinskus. Born in Old Forge, he was the son of the late John and Anna Ruby Telesz. He was a graduate of Old Forge High School and was employed as a vice-president at MacGregor Iron Company in Dunmore until his retirement. He resided for most of his life in Justus. He was a staunch member of St. Mary's Visitation Church in Dickson City. His passion was his family and friends. He always made time to care for the needs of those near and dear to him. He was an avid pilot. He also enjoyed fishing in Canada, hunting, golf and handywork. Also surviving are sons Andrew J. Telesz Jr. and wife Mary, Centreville, VA and James P. Telesz, Winter Park, FL, daughters Susan McKibben, Atlanta, GA, Janine Hernandez and husband Juan Benjamin, Palm Coast, FL, grandchildren Trevor, Collin, Nicole, Emilee, Kali and Chasey, brothers Joseph Telesz and wife Connie, Taylor, Robert Telesz and wife Ellie, Marble, PA, and sister Ann Cavanaugh, Warrington and sister in law Grace Telesz, Old Forge. He was preceded in death by brother John Telesz. A public viewing will be Wednesday from 9:00am to 10:30am at the Margotta Funeral Home, 511 Church St. Jessup, Pa. The funeral mass will follow at St. Mary's Visitation Church, 1090 Carmalt Street, Dickson City at 11:00am. Entombment at the parish mausoleum will follow the mass. Anyone attending the viewing and mass must wear a mask and follow all CDC Guidelines. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to St. Mary Visitation Church.
