Obituary of Marian E. Rodway
Marian Rodway, formerly Marian Evans, passed peacefully at 94 years old on Sunday evening. Born in West Scranton, she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Anne Evans. She was a resident of Peckville for over 65 years. Before retirement, Marian was employed at Harper & Row Publishing. She loved the simple things in life like being with her family, aqua aerobics at the YMCA, drinking her tea after dinner, and Coney Island hot dogs. Her title of “Gram” extended beyond her grandchildren to all whom she treated like family. Marian is survived by her two children, Jeffrey Rodway (wife, Arlene) and Lori Rodway Homentosky (late husband, Edward); four grandchildren, Ian Rodway, Linell Homentosky, Evan Rodway, and Ross Homentosky; a great grandson Owen Rodway; as well as countless nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her husband, Linferd; son-in-law, Edward Homentosky; and her eleven siblings. The family would like to thank the health care providers at Allied Terrace, especially Toni, as well as those at Hospice of the Sacred Heart for their incredible kindness and compassion. Marian will be laid to rest at Prospect Hill Cemetery in Peckville at a private family service. Memorial contributions may be made to the Hospice of the Sacred Heart, 100 William Street, Dunmore; or to the donor's charity of preference. Arrangements were under the care and direction of the James M. Margotta Funeral Home, 1019 Main Street, Peckville. Please visit the funeral home website to leave an online condolence.
