Obituary of Paula Puchalski

Paula Puchalski, 72 of Largo, Florida and Jessup passed away Monday, with her husband by her side at Allied Skilled Nursing. She was the wife of Edward Puchalski. The couple was married for 47 years. Born in Scranton, she was the daughter of the late Dr. Almo and Phyllis Ciprian Sebastianelli. She was a graduate of St. Patrick's High School in Olyphant, and Marywood College where she received a B. S. in Education. Paula began her teaching career with the NEIU, teaching in Dunmore. She taught most of her career in in the Scranton School District, in numerous buildings. At Garfield she coached Track and led the team to a championship. She also taught at Lincoln-Jackson and West Intermediate. Most of her years in Scranton were spent at South Intermediate. There she was the co-moderator of the yearbook and peer mediation as well as moderator of Student Government. She was a member of the Scranton Federation of Teachers. As a member of the Scranton Women Teachers Club she served as the social chairman, the vice-president, and two years as the president of the organization. She was also a member of the golf league, and was a former member of Elkview Country Club and the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary. Paula could adapt to any situation, professionally, socially, emotionally and have a positive impact. She was a loving and caring daughter, wife, cousin and aunt. Everyone who knew her loved her. All of her nieces and nephews and cousins called her Aunt Paula. Also surviving are a brother in law, David Puchalski, Willow Grove, several cousins including Jerry Naticchi, Judy Biglin, Rochelle Frances, Joi Schlappe, Charles and Anthony Ciprian and Louann Jones. She was preceded in death by cousins James Naticchi, and Pat Ciprian . The funeral will be held Monday with mass at 10 AM at Christ The King Parish, St. Thomas Church, Archbald. Interment, St. Francis Cemetery, Eynon. Friends may call from 9 Am until time of service. All CDC Guidelines will be adhered to. Masks must be worn and Social Distancing observed. Arrangements are under the care of the Margotta Funeral Home.
