
Obituary of Michael A. Beneski
Michael A. Beneski, 88 of Peckville passed away Monday evening at Abington Manor under the care of Hospice of the Sacred Heart. His wife is the former Rose Marie Receski.
Born and raised in Olyphant, son of the late Alexander and Mary Swierczek Beneski.
He was a graduate of Olyphant High School. Before his retirement he was employed by the PA Liquor Control Board. He was a member of the Sacred Heart of Jesus Parish in Peckville.
He was a man of honor and integrity. His family was his first priority. He was hard working and took pride in creating a wonderful home for them to enjoy. Michael was especially proud of his children, Glenn, Mark, and Sherri and their accomplishments. His grandchildren were a great source of joy and he always looked forward to their visits.
Also surviving are a son Mark and his wife Mary Catherine, Erie, PA, a daughter Sherri Bourneuf, Nazareth, PA, daughter in law Liz Beneski; his grandchildren, Michael and Anna Marie Beneski and Alex Bourneuf; a brother, Frank Beneski, Olyphant; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by a son, Glenn Michael Beneski; brothers, Anthony, Nickras and John Beneski; sisters, Florence Kortyka, Theresa Nesevitch and Elizabeth Magdon.
The funeral will be on Saturday at 11am at the Sacred Heart of Jesus Parish, Peckville. Entombment will follow at St. Mary’s Visitation Cemetery, Dickson City. Viewing hours are private. Arrangements under the care and direction of James M. Margotta Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital or Sacred Heart of Jesus Parish, 1101 Willow Ave. Peckville.
