Obituary of Johanna DeCarli

Johanna DeCarli, 99 of Eynon passed away Saturday at Allied Hospice Center after a brief illness. She was the widow of Anthony DeCarli Sr. who died September 29, 2009 Born in Peckville, she was the daughter of the late Alfred Cicilioni Sr. and the late Mary Pacini. She was a graduate of Blakely High School, Class of 1940, and resided for all of her married life in Eynon. She was a former member of Our Lady of Vilna CHurch and St. Mary's of Czestochowa Church in Eynon presently known as Christ The King Parish. She was employed as a seamstress in the local Garment Industry. She also worked at Daystrom Industries for a short time. She was an active member of the Christian Mothers of Our Lady of Vilna and St. Mary's of Czestechowa, respectively. Jenny took great pleasure out of the simple things in life. She was a talented cook and enjoyed sharing Sunday meals with her family. Her greatest joy was her family, especially watching her grandchildren and great grandchildren growing up. She was very talented in arts and crafts. She enjoyed crocheting Afghans,Quilts and making Mr/Mrs Santa dolls. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to Christ The King Parish/Food Pantry, Church Street, Archbald, Pa 18403. She is survived by two sons; Anthony A. DeCarli, Jr. EdD and wife Elaine, and Robert J. both of Eynon, grandchildren,Dr. Anthony DeCarli III and wife Sharon, Archbald, Matthew,Glenn Allen, VA, Mark and wife Kera, Green Castle, PA, Marisa Maddox DeCarli and husband Robert, Hockessin,DE, 8 great grandchildren, Michael and Joel, Jacob and Emma, Jordan, Bianca, Alex and Luke and many nieces and nephews.She was preceded in death by sisters, Louise Belardi, Yolanda Churney, Melinda Yazach, Mary Kulikowski, Angeline Capocci ,and brothers, John, Alfred Jr. and Orlando Cicilioni. The funeral will be held Thursday with mass at 10 Am at Christ the King Parish in Archbald. Interment will be private for family only at St. Francis Cemetery, Eynon. Freinds may call at the church one hour before time of service, from 9 am to 9:55.Masks must be worn and social distancing and all CDC guidelines will be followed. Arrangements are under the care and direction of the Margotta Funeral Homes.
