Obituary of Carol Poronsky

Carol Poronsky, of Peckville, passed away Sunday, with her husband by her side, at Allied Hospice. She was the wife of Nazzareno "Bucky" Poronsky. The couple was married for 59 years. Born in Taylor, she was the daughter of the late Joseph L. Evans and the late Constance Augustitis. She was a graduate of West Scranton High School. Carol was employed for I.C.S. in Scranton for many years and retired from Jewelcor Travel after 20 years of employment. She resided in Peckville for the last 45 years and was a member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Church in Peckville and a former member of the Altar and Rosary Society. She also was a member of Elmhurst Country Club. Always a kind and caring wife, sister, aunt and friend who always made time for family and friends. She had two furry friends whom she loved, Tudor and Beauregard. She will be greatly missed but never forgotten. She is survived by her husband and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by three brothers, Joseph, Robert and David Evans. A funeral mass will be held Thursday at 1 o'clock at Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, Willow Street, Peckville. Masks and social distancing are required if attending mass. Interment, St. Catherine's Cemetery, Moscow. There will be no public viewing. Arrangements are under the care of the Margotta Funeral Home.
