Obituary of Anthony Marino

Anthony Marino, 36, of Jessup died at home of natural causes. His wife is the former Stacy Terenzi, Jessup. The couple was married for 12 years.

Born in Scranton, he was the son of Nicholas and Laurie Burda Marino, both of Jessup. He was a graduate of Valley View High School, Class of 2000, and earned a Bachelor’s Degree from Penn State University.

He was an owner in his family's business, Marino Brothers Contracting, Inc. Tony was a lifelong member of Queen of Angels Parish, St. Michael’s Church, Jessup. Also a member of Knights of Columbus Council 10729, The Carbino Club, Jessup Hose Co #2, recently acquiring the rank of Fire Captain.

Tony was very involved in La Festa dei Ceri in Jessup. He was a past Capodieci of Saint Ubaldo in 2009 and was the current Treasurer of La famiglia di S. Ubaldo. He has run the “Race of the Saints” for two decades.

Also surviving are his children; Nicholas, Abigail and Allison, all at home; two sisters, Nicole Carey and husband Jason, Jessup; and Gina Valenzano and husband Chris, Jessup; maternal grandmother, Dorothy Burda, Peckville, and paternal grandparents, Anthony and Barbara Marino, Mayfield; aunts, uncles and nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Nicholas Burda.

The funeral will be on Friday with mass of Christian burial at 10 am at St. Michael’s Church, Jessup. Interment will follow at St. Mary’s Assumption Cemetery, Montdale. Viewing hours will be held on Thursday from 4 to 8 pm at the James M. Margotta Funeral Home, 1019 Main St. Peckville. For directions, to share photos, or online condolences visit,
