Obituary of James Jerome

James (Jim) W. Jerome entered into rest on August 6, 2019 st Hospice of the Sacred Heart in Dunmore. Jim was born in 1925 in Dickson City and a resident of Mill City for 65 years. He is the son of the late James and Hannah Prosser Jerome. Jim is the beloved husband of Genevieve (Gen) Fritsch Jerome and father of Karen (Chip) Vangelas and Jeff (Betsy) Jerome.

Jim was a veteran of World War II, where he served in the Army. Upon returning home he divided his time between two of his passions; electronics, by opening an electronic service business and music by performing as a drummer in a local band. Jim enjoyed working with his hands as shown through his work, music, his home which he built and through his paintings.

The family expresses their deepest gratitude to Lisa Molinaro who provided exceptional care during Jim’s Time with Hospice.

Jim was a member of the Lake Winola United Methodist Church and a life member of the American Legion Post in Olyphant.

Jim was devoted to his family. He enjoyed taking his family camping and visiting historical sites. He is survived by his wife and children, his sisters Ruth Gallant and Nancy Sheridan of Florida, and four grandchildren, Braiden, Anastian, Callum Jerome, and Cindy Vangelas.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Hospice of the Sacred Heart, 100 Williams St. Dunmore, PA and the Lake Winola Methodist Church, Lake Winola, PA

There will be a memorial service on Saturday, September 1 at 10am at Lake Winola United Methodist Church.
