Obituary of Elizabeth O'Bell
Elizabeth " Betty " O'Bell, 99 of Mayfield, died Sunday August 5, 2018 at the Lackawanna Health and Rehab Center following a lengthly stay. She was the widow of Albert O'Bell who died November 5, 1990. Born in Dickson City, she was the daughter of the late John and Josephine Jezierski Rutkowski. She attended Dickson City schools and was employed in the local garment and food service industries. She was a former member of Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary Parish, Jermyn, Pa.
She was a member of the women's Mid Valley Bowling League, active with the ILGWU and was a skilled employee, able to master any machine or work order assigned. Her work ethic was impeccable. She loved to cook and bake, especially for family dinners and affairs. She was totally committed to her family and no request was refused. There will never be another "Betty" and we will miss her so much.
A special thank you from the family to the staff of floor C2 at the Health and Rehab Center. You provided a consistently high and compassionate level of care to Mother.
Surviving are a son Frank O'Bell and wife Dolores, Peckville, daughter Diane Fanucci, widow of Theodore, Ocala, Florida and grandchildren Attorney Eric O'Bell and wife Sherri, Metairie, Louisiana, Attorney Kirsten McConnell and husband Patrick, San Diego, California, Theodore Fanucci Jr. Ocala, Florida and Jason Van Brunt; great grandchildren Olivia Elizabeth O'Bell, Metairie, Louisiana, Kylie Cate McConnell, Keira Kelly McConnell, San Diego, California and Jestin Krinsky, Eynon, Pennsylvania.
She was preceded in death by a daughter KarenVan Brunt, grand daughter Diane Krinsky, brothers Frank, Walter, Chester, Michael, Edmund, Edward, Stanley, Alex, Ted, and sisters Stella Merklinger and Jean Darlak.
The funeral will be Friday, August 10, 2018 with mass at 9:30am at Sacred Heart of Jesus Parish, Willow Street, Peckville, Pa. Interment, Calvary Cemetery, Mayfield, Pa. Friends will be received at the church from 8:30am to time of service.
