David A. Vergari
David “Virg” Vergari, 63, of Peckville died Saturday afternoon at Allied Hospice Center in Scranton after a long battle with cancer.
Born in Peckville he was the son of Attilio Vergari, Peckville and the late Alice Generotti.
Dave was a graduate of Valley View High School. Following High School he earned an Associate Degree in Masonry. He was employed as a Machinist at Mariani Industries, and also worked at Duke’s Sports Bar, and Romeo Tire.
He was a well known musician in the local music scene. He also enjoyed camping and fishing at Moosic Lakes, the Lackawanna River, Louis Lake, and Sarnoski Park. He loved his family and will be dearly missed.
Also surviving are a brother Joseph Loftus-Vergari and wife Cindy, Mountaintop, a brother in law, Louis M. Margotta Jr., Jessup; several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Teresa Margotta and a grand-niece Natalie Velo-Zorzi.
The funeral will be on Thursday with mass of Christian burial at Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, Peckville at 10:00 am. Interment will follow at St. John’s Cemetery, Jessup.
