Obituary of Violet Sadavage

Violet T. Sadavage, 99, of Jessup, died Saturday morning at Allied Hospice in Scranton. She was the widow of Victor Sadavage, who died on July 18, 2008. The couple was married for 69 years at the time of his death. Born and raised in Jessup, she was the daughter of the late Steve and Susan Chesock Cholish. She was a graduate of Jessup High School and was one of the original employees at Sugerman's in Eynon and worked there until it closed. She was also a member of Queen of Angels Parish, St. Michael's Church, Jessup, and the Ladies Auxiliary of the Jessup Hose Co. # 2 where she served as President for a number of years.


Violet was a loving, wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother and will be missed by everyone who knew her.  She enjoyed vacationing with her grandchildren, holiday dinners at her house, annual 4th of July cookouts, and looked forward to the St. Therese Novena every year.

Surviving are a son, Eugene, Olyphant, a daughter, Beverly Zeller and husband, Jimmy, Eynon, a brother, Gene Cholish, Archbald, a sister, Florence Wargo and Brother in Law, Jack, Peckville, Grandchildren, Gary, Jeff and wife Tammy, Olyphant, Noel Day and husband, Chris, Lakeland, Florida; Great grandchildren, Alyssa, Noah, Brandon, and Hunter Day, Zachery Sadavage and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by a daughter in law, Betsy Sadavage, and several brothers and sisters.


The funeral will be held Friday from the Louis M. Margotta Funeral Home, 511 Church St. Jessup with mass at 10AM at Queen of Angels Parish, St. Michael's Church, Jessup, Entombment, St. Mary's Mausoleum, Montdale. Friends may call Thursday from 5 to 8 PM. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions maybe be made to the donor’s favorite charity.
