Obituary of Charles Andrejko

Charles Andrejko Sr., 94, of Blakely, died at home on Thursday evening. His wife is the former Sophie Nowak. They would have celebrated 70 years of marriage on May 8th. 

 

Born in Jessup, Charles attended Jessup Schools before joining the U.S. Army to serve his country and earn 5 Bronze Stars during World War II. Upon his return home, he was employed for many years as a manager/mechanic at CBA Sportswear. Prior to retirement, he worked at Leslie Fay as a sewing machine mechanic. He was well known for his homemade kielbasa and wine. He was a longtime member of St. Mary’s Visitation Church, Dickson City.

 

Also surviving are his three children, Charles Andrejko Jr. and his wife Mila, Azle, TX, Mary Ann Colarusso, Jessup, and Kitty Fedarko and husband, Frank, Lorton, VA; seven grandchildren, Charles Andrejko III and wife Chalea, Mary Grace Andrejko, Teresa Rybnick and husband Robert, Michael Colarusso and wife Stefanie, Charles Colarusso, Brian Fedarko, and Laura Pape and husband David, five great-grandchildren, Jacob Fedarko, Ryan Pape, Francesca and Jude Colarusso, and Cooper Rybnick, numerous nieces and nephews.

 

Charles was the last surviving child of the late Stanley Sr. and Catherine Dup Andrejko. He was preceded in death by three sisters Mary Froncek, Anna Jaskulski and Catherine Ermel; and seven brothers: Joseph, Michael, Stanley Jr., John, Anthony, Felix, and Peter. He was also preceded in death by his son-in-law, Charles Colarusso. 

 

The funeral will be Monday with Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 am at St. Mary’s Visitation Church, Dickson City. Inurnment will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Dickson City.
