Obituary of Jean Rosetti
Jean M. “Gina” Rosetti died Saturday at Regional Hospital of Scranton, surrounded by her loving family. Her Husband of 65 years, Lawrence Rosetti, passed away on January 1st, 2017.
Born May 16th, 1932, in Peckville, she was the daughter of the late Cecelia and Luigi Mellini. She was a graduate of Jessup High School and worked part time as a waitress in restaurant establishments throughout area where her infectious smile and warm personality were always on display.
Gina was a devoted wife and the stereotypical Italian mother who showered her children (and grandchildren) with unconditional love and enormous amounts of amazing food. She was deeply religious and found great comfort in praying to the Baby Jesus. She also loved her dogs, Mia and Tanya, like her own children. Gina always had time for you and was forever interested in making sure you were happy. Her greatest gifts were the twinkle in her eyes and her ability to immediately connect with people in a compassionate and caring way.
She is survived by her three sons, Larry and wife, Patricia, Scranton; Gregory, Peckville; and Louis and wife, Wendy, Archbald; grandsons, Matthew, Brian, Gregory, Louis and Samuel Rosetti; great-grandchildren, Joanna, Juliet and Florence Rosetti; Nieces, Valerie Johnson, Corrie Monsey.
She was proceeded in death by sister Rena Labosky; brother Primo Mellini; nephew Michael Mellini.
She was a member of the Queen of Angels Parish is Jessup.
The funeral will be Wednesday from the Louis M. Margotta Funeral Home, 511 Church St. Jessup, with mass at 9:30 St. Michael’s Church, Jessup. Interment will be private.
