Obituary of Frank Osborne
Frank J. Osborne 83, of Eynon, died Saturday, at Wilkes-Barre General Hospital, after a brief illness.
His wife of 59 years is the former Ann Marie Rushen.
Born in Carbondale, he was the son of the late John and Mary Glinsky Osborne. He lived in Archbald for most of his life after moving from Carbondale. He was a graduate of Carbondale High School and was a US Navy veteran during the Korean War. He was employed as a technician for the former RCA / Thompson Electronics Corporation, until his retirement. He was a member of Christ the King Parish in Archbald.
Loving husband, father, grandfather and brother, Frank enjoyed the comradery with friends & family at Elkview Country Club where he won the Men’s Senior Club Championships in 1988 Division I (Age 50-59), 1995 Division II (Age 60-69), and 2006, 07, 08, 09, 10 & 12 Division III (Age 70+). His favorite hole at Elkview CC was hole #7 where he experienced 2 hole in ones. He was an adventurous traveler along with his wife, and they would spend their time together exploring new destinations. He had a deep love for animals, and loved his pugs Madison & Ginger. He was a volunteer resource for the Food Basket at Christ the King Church Parish. Frank and his family would like to offer a sincere and warm thank you for the incredible care taken by the ICU staff at Wilkes Barre General Hospital.
Also surviving are three sons; Larry and wife Ann, Washington Twp., NJ, Jimmy, Archbald, and Frank Jr., and wife Jenn, Crystal Lake, grandchildren, Lauren and Michael, a brother, Jack Osborne and wife Patricia, Waymart, two sisters, Irene Vauter, Clarks Summit and Barbara Norton and husband Sean, Wilmington, NC, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother Joseph Osborne and a sister, Jane Sleboda.
The funeral will be Thursday from the James M. Margotta Funeral Home, 1019 Main St. Peckville with mass at 9:30 at St. Mary’s of Czestochowa Church, Eynon. Entombment, Our Mother Of Sorrows Cemetery, Greenfield Township. Friends may call Wednesday from 5 to 8 PM. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to, VA Medical Center, 1111 E.
