Obituary of Benjamin Solimine

Benjamin P. Solimine 85, of Peckville, died Sunday, May 7, 2017 at Hospice of the Sacred Heart, after an illness.

His wife of 33 years is the former Cheryl Booth.

Born in Scranton, he was the son of the late Benjamin and Angelina Genello Solimine. He was a graduate of Wilkes University where he received a degree in Accounting. He was employed in the Human Resources department of Times-Mirror Magazines for 22 years and formerly worked at the Scranton-Lackawanna Human Development Agency. He resided in Peckville for the last 27 years.

He was a loving husband and father. He was an excellent guitarist, knew all the answers on Jeopardy, and loved to be the center of his family’s attention. 

Also surviving are two sons; Ben J. Solimine, Dickson City and William Michael Solimine II and wife, Stefanie, Bridgeport, PA and a daughter, Cara Lunell Solimine, Esquire, Peckville, two granddaughters, Alexandra and Isabella Solimine, a sister, Ann Perry, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother, William and three sisters, Philomena, Vera and Mary.

The funeral will be Thursday from the James M. Margotta Funeral Home, 1019 Main St. Peckville. Friends may call from 5 to 7 PM Thursday. Interment will be private. For online condolences go to, www.margottafuneralhomes.com.
