Richard “Corporal” Visneski, 71 Of Olyphant, died Wednesday, May 3rd at Scranton Regional Hospital after an illness. His wife of 53 years is Maryann Visneski.
Born in Peckville, he was the son of Helen Wilkes Visneski, Sturges and the late John Visneski. He attended Archbald schools and graduated from International Correspondence School, with honors. He was a proud member of the US Army. He was also a member of St. Adalbert’s Polish National Catholic Church, Dickson City, the American Legion, Post 665, DAV Chapter 11, both of Dickson City, where he was a past commander, treasurer and vice commander, Sturges Fire Company and Fire Chief of Archbald Borough.
He is survived by a son Richard S. Visneski, Jr and a daughter, Rainelle Maria Fluck, grandchildren, Bryana, Shane Visneski and Grace Clark Visneski brothers in law, Dr. Thomas P. Sosnowski and Dr. Eugene V. Sosnowski and several nieces and nephews.The funeral will be held Monday at 9:30 from the James M. Margotta Funeral Home, 1019 Main St. Peckville, with mass at 10 am at St. Adalbert’s Polish National Church, Dickson, Interment, parish cemetery. Friends may call Sunday from 5 to 7 PM.
