Obituary of JoAnn Evancho
JoAnn Vernoski Evancho,77, of Peckville, passed away Friday morning at Hospice of the Sacred Heart.
Born in Scranton, she was the daughter of the late George and Angela Wisniewski.
She was a graduate of West Scranton High School, class of 1957, and was employed at Haband Manufacturing, prior to her retirement.
The family would like to thank Dr. Rajan Mulloth, Moses-Taylor Hospital ICU, Hospice of the Sacred Heart and all their nurses and staff for their compassionate care. Also, Chaplin Sara Mountain for her soothing words which opened the door for JoAnn to start her new journey. Dear friend, Helmi Troiani, for being with for her family and providing her caring love and support, being by her side throughout many trying nights, Mary Ann Dolman, Annie Tolerico and Teresa Volpi for their sincere friendship.
Surviving are, her children Kristina Kuzmick, Blakely, Bill Evancho and wife Sheila, Jefferson Twp., Laura DelRosso and husband Ralph, Olyphant, and Kimberly Mackey and husband Michael, Peckville; Grandchildren, David Colin Kuzmick, Olivia, Jacob and Lily Evancho, Preslie and Dominick DelRosso, Michael, Brandon and Austin Mackey; two great grandchildren, a sister in law, Audrey Wisniewski, Moscow, and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by three brothers, Jack and Joseph Wisniewski, and George Vernoski, a sister Sophie Wisniewski..
The funeral will be on Tuesday with mass at 9:30am at St. Patrick’s Church, Olyphant. Interment will follow at the parish cemetery. Friends may call on Monday from 5-8pm at the James M.
