Obituary of Kenneth Jarrow
Kenneth T. Jarrow, 73 of Peckville, died Friday at Geisinger Community Medical Center. He resided in Peckvlle for over 40 years with his wife of 48 years ithe former Nancy Volock.
Born in Jessup, he was the son of the late Michael and Helen Repchik Jarrow. He was a graduate of Jessup High School class of 1962 and was a member of the Army National Guard. Over the years he was employed on the maintenance staff at Mayflower Showcase, Affliated Foods, Creative Design and The Eynon Surgery Center until his disabilities forced him to retire. He was a member of Holy Ghost Byzantine Catholic Church, Jessup.
Ken enjoyed traveling especially cruises. He never let his disabilities stop him, he was always on the go. He lived his life to the fullest doing all the things he loved which included playing bingo and go to the casino. He loved to cook and was very good at it, especially his spaghetti sauce that his grandchildren loved so much. He was a huge Yankee and Pittsburgh Steeler fan. He loved the Scranton Wilkes Barre Railriders and looked forward to the start of the baseball season each year. He would ride around PNC field on his scooter and he knew everyone and they all knew him. He hardly every missed a home game and if he did everyone was checking as to why.
He unconditionally loved his sons and his grandchildren who he adored and would do anything for them. He would not hesitate to help someone in need. That's who he was.
He was an active member of the Jessup American Legion, Post 411 and the Eynon Vfw, Post 7963.
Also surviving are two sons Jeffrey and wife Mari, Scranton and Christopher and wife Katie, Effort, PA , two brothers, Mike Jarrow, Peckville and Barry Jarrow and wife Ann, Jessup, a sister Donna Taramelli and husband, Gene, Jessup, grandchildren,, Jeremy, Kayla, Isabelle and Nathan Jarrow. He was preceded in death by a son, Kenneth, and a brother, Robert and a sister Patricia Mellin.
Following Ken's request he has been cremated and there will be no viewing.
Arrangements are under the care of the Margotta Funeral Home, in Jessup.
