Obituary of Martha Guagliardo

Martha Guagliardo, 94 of Olyphant, formerly of Jessup, died Sunday at Hospice of the Sacred Heart. She was the widow of Carl Guagliardo who died  September 14, 2011. The couple was married for 63 years at the time of his death.

She was born in Jessup, the daughter of the late Dominick and Jennie Tribuzzi Mancinelli.  A graduate of jessup High School and was a member of Holy Cross Parish, St. Patrick’s Church. She was employed in the local Garment Industry. She resided in Olyphant for most of her life after moving from Jessup.

Martha was proud of her Italian heritage and would speak Italian to anyone whose name ended in a vowel. She had a wonderful sense of humor that never seemed to turn off. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend.  She never really recovered from the loss of her husband in 2011 and spoke often of being with him again. She is now. 

 

She is survived by a daughter, Karen Bobrowski and husband Edward, and a son Carl Guagliardo and wife Donna, all of Olyphant, a brother, Eugene Mancinelli and wife Norma, Peckville, and a sister, Evelyn Checefsky and husband Walter, Peckville, three grandchildren, Mary Beth Bobrowski and husband P.J., Brian Guagliardo and wife Crystal, and Jeffrey Guagliardo and wife Tran, three great grandchildren, Lizzy and Elana Fortuner and Amelia Grace Guagliardo, and nieces and nephews.She was preceded in death by sisters; Rena Mancinelli, Helen Taramelli, Harriet Mancinelli and Ethel Mancinelli, Mary Siarkiewicz, Lucy Jerome, Norma Fetcho,  and Agnes Yarmilak ,and brothers;  Albert, Joseph and Mario Mancinelli.

 

The funeral will be friday with mass at 9:30 at St. Patrick’s Church, Olyphant. Interment , St. John’s Cemetery, Jessup. Friends may call one hour prior to the time of the mass, at the church.

Arrangements are under the care of the Louis M. Margotta Funeral Home.
