Mildred “Cookie” Scott, of Eynon, died Saturday morning at Geisinger CMC. Her husband, Asa Scott, was the love of her life. The couple was married for 64 years.
Born in Eynon, she was the daughter of the late George and Mary Druther Kane. She was a longtime member of St. Mary’s Czestochowa Church, Eynon.
She was a wonderful mother and nana, her passion in life was her family and her joy was feeding them. She was known for her Porchetta, ravioli, pierogi, and nut roll. She was a woman of great faith and will be dearly missed.
Also surviving are three daughters; Susan Ainsworth and husband John, Eynon, Mariette Scott Baka, Olyphant, Michelle Scott Passeri, Peckville; six grandchildren, Carly Shayka and husband Derek, Eynon, Christy Passeri and finace Roy, Jessup, Charles Passeri Jr. and companion Kathleen, Scranton, Chase Passeri, Peckville, Jeffery Baka Jr, Kingston, Molly Hall, Uniondale; five great grandchildren, Brooke, Ella, Charlee, Lila, and Jameson; several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by five brothers; John, Steve, Joseph, George and Frank; eight sisters Helen, Florence, Kay, Rose, Marian, Loretta, Pat, and Delores.
The funeral will be on Tuesday with mass of Christian burial at St. Mary’s Czestochowa Church, Eynon at 10 am. Entombment will follow at Our Mother of sorrows Cemetery, Carbondale. There will be no calling hours. For directions or online condolences, visit www.margottafuneralhomes.com
