Dorothy J. Dawson, 83, of Olyphant, died Friday morning at Allied Skilled Nursing facility in Clarks Summit.
Born in Florida, she was the daughter of the late Jennifer Stephens. She was employed as an L.P.N at Moses Taylor Hospital and retired after 25 years. Dorothy was also president of the L.P.N. nurse’s league for several years.
She was a kind and loving mother, grand and great-grandmother, and friend who will be missed. She loved her family and their vacations to the beach. The family would like to send a special thank you to Allied Skilled Nursing Facility and their staff.
Surviving are a daughter, Catherine Grohe, Meshoppen; two sons, Howard E. Heater and wife Lisa, Olyphant and Michael Heater and companion Eileen Craig, Olyphant; five grandchildren, Ken Gravine and wife Michelle, Savannah, GA, Jennifer Gravine and fiancé Dan West, Mountaintop, Michael Heater Jr. and wife Kelly, Frackville, Alyssa Heater-Sullivan and husband Jason, West Wyoming, Howard Heater Jr. and companion Morgan Seymour, Olyphant; five great-grandchildren, Dakota, Brandon, Brianna, Bryden, and Dante; two sisters Bettye Hieber, and Barbara Stephens, both of N.C.
She was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Melissa Gravine.
