Mario "Chick" Boccadori 87, of Eynon, passed away peacefully Tuesday, at home surrounded by his family.
His wife of 59 years is the former Roberta Burdick Boccadori.
Born in Eynon, he was the son of the late Sante and Elvira Aldini Boccadori. He was a graduate of Archbald High School and was drafted into the US Army. He was employed for a short time for Gasparini Excavating, and then later he started his own business as an auto mechanic. He built, owned and operated Boccadori's Garage in Eynon. His family continues operating this business today. He also served on the Archbald Borough Council from 1960 to 1971.
He was very proud of his Italian heritage and his community activism. He was a skilled musician, playing the guitar, mandolin, banjo and harmonica. He was a member of the Gasparini Hillbillies Band. In his later years he loved picking blueberries and hand sawing firewood. He was recently honored by the Archbald mayor for 60 years of business ownership in the borough.
Mario's family wishes to express their thanks to the staff of Home Health Care Professionals and Hospice for their warm and compassionate care and heartfelt support.
Also surviving; are five daughters and one son; Connie Moro, Concord, NC, Judy Setar, and husband Edward, Long Island, Bobbye Kopec and husband Stan, Pepperell, MA, Sam Boccadori and wife Mindy, Eynon, Marianne Petsche and husband Hal, Easton, MD, Sylvanna Boccadori, Butte, MT, and seven grandchildren; Allison Mescia, Coxsackie, NY, Paul Boccadori, Eynon, Daniel Boccadori and wife Jennifer, Eynon, Jenny Boccadori, Eynon, Amelia Setar, NYC, Calvin Setar, Denver, CO, Jeff DiMattia, Eynon, and four great grandchildren, Liliana and Nicholas Mario Boccadori and Ariella and Daniel Mario Boccadori, and a sister, Mildred Peduto, Dallas, TX as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a daughter Susanne in 1971 and siblings Paul Boccadori, Mary Lorenzetti, Eleanor Bohleman, Helen Spogli, Mary Gianconi, and Minnie Giordani.
The funeral will be Saturday from the James M. Margotta Funeral Home1019 Main St. Peckville with services at 10 am at St. Francis Cemetery Chapel. Interment St. Francis Cemetery, Eynon. Friends may call Friday from 4 to 8 pm and Saturday from 9 to 9:45AM. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial contributions made to, St. Francis Cemetery Fund, c/o 640 Thomas St. Eynon, PA 18403; where he spent countless hours volunteering his time, helping to maintain the cemetery.
